This week please note that our schedule is different than normal because of the Science Fair! We'll resume our normal schedule next week.
Tuesday, April 3
Today we talked about "crossing the threshold," specifically what it means literally and metaphorically. We linked this definition to a personal story, stories from the AWIT characters, and then we looked at it scientifically: Could scientists move atoms so that people could, in fact, walk through things? Your homework tonight is to write a one-paragraph explanation answering that question. You also need to be prepared for a quiz over chapters 8 & 9 tomorrow.
Wednesday, April 4
Today we had a quiz over chapter 9. If you did not finish, please finish it for Friday. Here are the questions:
Directions: Who said it? Identify who said the following quotes. Then, identify why the character said it using proper paragraph format, including a topic sentence, at least one piece of textual evidence, and a concluding sentence. Remember that all paragraphs ought to be at least 5 sentences long.
“And, for thou wast a spirit too delicate/To act her earthly and abhorr’d commands…/she did confine thee…into a cloven pine—”

2. Why did this character say these words? Be specific by writing one paragraph with textual evidence.
