It is my belief that one of the most important ways to help students succeed in school is to involve you, the parents. For that reason, I hope we’ll be in touch often! Please come visit me at parent-teacher conferences, and I highly encourage you to participate in the class’s online activities, which you can find on my website, www.MsNinaHall.weebly.com.
I use this website to post homework assignments and to showcase student writing. Think of my website as a student portfolio where you can see your child’s work and progress. At the bottom of each student entry, you can leave a comment. I encourage you to leave comments for your child and other students! One of the best ways to motivate student writing is to see that it is read by others. Your comments will motivate them to pay more attention to their writing and thus write better.
Please note that I do often require online participation, such as posting essays on my website or using the Internet for research. Reason being, technology has become a modern requirement. To succeed in higher education and future career fields, students must be fully proficient in technological devices, software, and the Internet. My job, then, is to ensure that your children are equipped with English language skills and technological fluency.
I look forward to a wonderful and productive semester! Please contact me if you have any questions.
P.S. I also have a Facebook page where I post interesting or pertinent articles that relate to whatever we're doing in class. I encourage you to follow my page. It's a great space to collaborate and learn, and it's another way in which we can communicate.
